The Woody Bay Thursday tea drinking club met again this week. Peaceful tea drinking was interrupted by Martyn Budd suggesting that we might do some maintenance work on the rails through the platform.
John Villers and Richard Wiley check the tightness of the fixing and fishplate bolts.
Stalwarts Irene and Tony Cross had a nice surprise when, on behalf of the management and volunteers, Stuart, Robin, Martyn and Guard Patrick Faithfull presented them with flowers and a card to celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary.
At precise intervals someone parked a train over our worksite so we just had to stop what we were doing.
Later Martyn Budd and Toby (not in picture) jacked and packed some of the down platform rail whilst Brom Bromidge and Richard Wiley continued with the bolt tightening.
By the way I did do some work in between drinking tea and taking photos - honest!
