Work in Progress: 3rd May

With regular roving reporter Nigel Thompson away, this weeks report was compiled by Graham Bendell of Sherborne in Dorset (2hrs drive each way!) another Thursday Gang regular:

A damp, cold day at Woody Bay and fewer volunteers than usual meant that the projects in the shed benefitted.

Repairs continued to the box van and painting started, a new platform seat was constructed and primed, a repaired seat undercoated and the telephone box is now nearly ready for painting.

Trains were running with reasonable loadings and also on site was a BBC film crew doing the preparatory groundwork for a forthcoming documentary.  Nothing more we can reveal at this stage - watch this space as they say!

1. Axe makes a steamy arrival.

2. L&B Trust Life member Ken Wilson has just enjoyed a footplate trip. Fireman Jim Price looks on.

3. Dave Bloomfield assembles the new seat under the watchful eye of Dave Drayson.

4. John Heys started painting box van no. 62

5. Tim Woods tests the new seat as he prepares to prime it!

6. Guard Bob Ayres gives the green flag for the 12.15 train
