Another bright and sunny summer's day at Woody Bay. General Manager Martyn Budd was keen to complete the fishplate greasing with the last few joints on the platform road at Killington Lane.
1. SID arrives at the platform at Killington Lane.
2. As the train departs uphill into the distance, the gang return to work on the last few rail joints on the platform track.
Later that day - the Thursday Gang found themselves undertaking landscape management (gardening!) on the grassy bank by the stock shed at Woody Bay, strimming and cutting overgrown grass and moving it out of the way.
3. Dave Tooke, Richard Willey and Nigel Thopson working as a team on this job.
4. Drink breaks were frequent in the hot weather. Martyn "tests" the railings while SID stands at the coaling stage prior to throwing out the fire and disposal for the day.
