A cold day with wintery showers faced the Thursday gang outdoors today. The sensible ones (Dave T, Jim, Brom, Martin A, and Stuart) managed to find jobs and tasks inside the warm, dry shed such as repairing and painting the carriages, whilst the gullible ones (Nigel, Dave B, Richard and Robin E), were foolish enough to volunteer to travel down the line to Killington Lane in the works train with Martyn and the dogs to finish off the fiddly bits left over from last weekend's trackbash.
Although the works train was intended to supply tools and machinery at Killington Lane, with careful positioning, it served a second purpose, as a shelter from the wintery north-westerly wind.
Despite the wind-break, the gang had from time to time to resort to sheltering in the brake van from hailstone showers, but despite this the job is now almost complete.
