Work in Progress - Saturday 21st February

Although work was started earlier in the week the major track-bash got into its stride today. One of the new regauged turnouts was installed into the shed road on the Welsh Side. As the day closed the point was ballasted ready for the second point to be installed on the Sunday.

Martyn Budd had the usual assistance provided by the stalwarts from the Isle Of Wight, the Dorset Group and the Devon Group.

Teresa Flewellen provided home made soup, cake and cups of tea to sustain the volunteers throughout the day.

1. The first point is in place with the ballasting and packing already begun.

2. Dave Tooke and John Villers get up close and personal with a fishplate.

 3. Julia gets stuck into packing the ballast whilst the guys check out the point geometry.

4.  The point is finally in place as dusk falls - tomorrow its partner will be installed.
