Over the three-day period, we had a large turnout on each day. This weekend was the one in which the cafe marquee would be used for the last time before being dismantled to make way for the new tea room to be built prior to the railway hopefully reopening in March.
The work completed over the weekend includes.....
1. & 2. The installed track panel with recycled plastic sleepers near to Bridge 67.
3. & 4. Replacement plastic sleepers being installed to the points at the 'Down' end of Woody Bay platform.
5. & 6. Work underway to reconnect a point back to the lever frame, and a point displays its newly fitted plastic sleepers.
7. The area between the station building and the A39 highway now cleared of untidy vegetation and rotting leaves.
8. The newly re-ballasted miniature railway at Woody Bay.
I thank everyone, including the mid-week volunteers who set everything up for the weekend, the volunteers who turned up on each of the work days, and the L&B regulars who helped make the weekend so successful. Your efforts were very much appreciated. Thank you.
