Still busy as autumn approaches...
1. ISAAC approaching Woody Bay with a heavily-laden morning train.
2. CHARLES WYTOCK was steamed today for a shunt move and also to test the vacuum brakes on the new wagons.
3. 'CHARLIE' stabled on the loading dock siding.
4. Bagnalls galore with CHARLES WYTOCK and ISAAC seen at Woody Bay.
5. SR liveried bogie open No.28320 is back in service after a recent refresh and repaint. This wagon is used for coal transport as General Manager Martyn Budd also refreshed after his holiday 'overseas' (Isle of Wight!) uses the excavator to unload the contents onto the coal stage.
6. In the Mess Room at lunchtime L&B Trust Chairman Peter Miles briefed the local volunteers regarding the planning applications for the railway's extension.
7. Everyone listens carefully whilst the detailed and complex process is explained by Peter and also by Brom Bromidge (to the right).
8. Meanwhile outside - the main job today was to replace some rotten sleepers on the running line. The old sleeper is dug out...
9....and a 'new' one slid in and the ballast repacked.
10. The gang stand back as ISAAC passes the sleeper replacement site.
Some tasks went unrecorded today, such as a sort out of Gala roadside signs, and a transfer of some large items to Rowley Moor and some other materials to Chelfham.
